He has changed the way I look at food and nutrition. The process of getting fit/staying healthy for me now is a fun and enjoyable exercise.
Having always been on the lighter side of the scale for most part of my life, it took me a long time to understand and accept that I had put on massive amount of weight at some point after I had started working. Like many, I chose to blame my sedentary job, work keeping me too busy to focus on nutrition and fitness, being vegetarian and not having adequate protein options… and what not! It's pretty much the same story everywhere isn't it?
What made it harder for me was that losing weight wasn't a new challenge. After all, I had lost an average of 12 - 15 kgs a couple of times over the year, so how hard could it be right? The process of losing this weight, almost always involved eating significantly LESS. This always gave me the result I wanted, for a while, then I hit 30,then I had a baby.
At this point it all changed.
Weight loss simply wasn't what it was earlier. I had put on immense weight during my pregnancy and was battling to get back in shape post-delivery. I had managed to lose some amount of it, but it seemed too darn difficult to get past a certain point and eating 'little' wasn't an option anymore since, I was nursing my baby who kept me on my feet 24/7.Also the weight loss after eating less was always short lived and only left me frustrated at the end of it all with little to no results to show for. It is safe to say one of the most challenging battles I have fought is the 'Battle of the bulge' and I was quite exhausted by this point.
I had been toying with the idea of consulting with Rahul for a while, and decided that this was indeed the right time. 3 months with him and I was down 8 kgs and better yet dropped sizes. Out went half of my wardrobe! This time, the weight loss was not about eating very little, but eating a LOT of the RIGHT food. The part that came as a wonderful surprise was that not only was I satiated the whole day, I had a lot more energy from start to the end of each day! As a young mother, I must tell you this is the supply of fuel to the vehicle that is you. It almost was impossible to wrap my head around how this magic worked! Rahul kept emphasising on consistency day after day, and all of a sudden my weighing scale and measuring tape weren't my enemy anymore! He has changed the way I look at food and nutrition. The process of getting fit/staying healthy for me now is a fun and enjoyable exercise. To know that following the plan consistently, will always get you where you want to be, is indeed a great feeling!
Cannot thank you enough!!
